2024 marks a new beginning as we look forward to all the fantastic things it has in store. Before that though, let’s look back on 2023 and see what a good year we’ve had.
Before we delve into the highlights of the year, our Head Teacher has a quick message for all of the students, staff and families who are part of the Guildhouse School community:
I would like to wish everyone a happy new year from all of us at Guildhouse School London.
We look forward to the new year with a renewed sense of vigour and purpose as we approach the Spring term, during which university offers will be issued to our students. It is an exciting time at the school as this year’s cohort really begin to see their futures take shape and whether they have secured a place at one of the UK’s top universities.
While the school might be quieter as students return home for the winter break, those of us here will be enjoying the traditional celebrations that London has to offer. This come in the form of firework displays filling the evening skies and winter markets.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the new year and the start of term – ready to become the change makers the world needs.
Carmel O’Dolan,
Head Teacher, Guildhouse School
Here at Guildhouse School 2023 was a fantastic year. Each of our students are leaps and bounds closer to achieving their academic goals and as a school community we accomplished great things.
Guildhouse School students teamed up with Camden Council to help declutter the iconic Bloomsbury Square. Students busted out their high-visibility jackets, litter pickers and black-bin liners and gave the large green space a good declutter. It was a wonderful and rewarding way to serve our local community and do our part in protecting the planet.
Our A Level students achieved great results that enabled them progress to some top universities. They have continued their studies at Queen Mary University of London, Kings College London and Durham University. These students added their own successes to Guildhouse School’s gleaming record of 97% of top 30 UK universities accepting our students in the last ten years.
Students are learning to trade like professional financiers in our newly refurbished Bloomberg Lab. It’s the only one that exists in a high school in Europe. This exclusive access gives Guildhouse School students a sharp edge when it comes to standing out in their university applications. Working in the Bloomberg Lab gives them insights into the financial sector they would not otherwise have until university.
As we wait excitedly to see what 2024 has in store for us, we are also thankful for all of the learning, success and happiness that 2023 brought with it.
